The mounting feeling for the need of strengthening fraternity bonds and consolidating steps enhancing economic cooperation among countries sharing common characteristics, objectives, and destiny had led to entertaining the idea of establishing a federation comprising the chambers of commerce, industry, and agriculuture in the arab Gulf states. Created in 1973 at the initiative of President Pompidou, Houphouet-Boigny and Senghor, the Standing Conference of African and Consular Chambers Francophones (CPCCAF) is the network of cooperation and Consular Chambers Support for the development and structuring of private sector in Africa. After 1979, the relatively newly formed Arab Gulf, found their existence being put into a direct test. Due to the geopolitical closeness and their economically strategic location, the Kingdom of Bahrain, State of Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates sought out a protective counter-alliance. With foreign investment operating in an intensely competitive world, countries need more than ever to develop efficient communication tools and appropriate promotional means in order to reach the global business community directly. GEOC’s mission is to advise and help public as well as private entities. |
